Maryland State Police Focus on Agressive Drivers

April 11th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

Hagerstown- State Police Commanders from West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland recently met to discuss criminal and traffic issues in our area.

One of the major topics of discussion was reducing crashes and aggressive drivers on Interstate 81. Within the past month there have been 2 double fatality crashes, one near Williamsport, MD and another near Falling Waters, WV. Aggressive driving and distracted driving are on the increase and are a major cause of crashes on I-81. Pennsylvania State Police are actively continuing with the homicide investigation of Timothy Davison, 28, of Poland, Maine, who was murdered after a driver collided with him on interstate 81. State Police continue to seek the public’s assistance in this case and encourage anyone with information to call.

Troopers in all 3 states will be conducting joint coordinated enforcement efforts on days throughout the spring and summer months. Aggressive enforcement of traffic laws and increased visibility has proven to reduce collisions and help reinforce the public’s awareness. These operations will be unannounced but will be specific to maximize results and safety on interstate 81 in all 3 states.
