Maryland To See Increase In Gas Prices

Gasoline prices are heading in different directions in Maryland and several neighboring states- and that could have some dramatic fiscal impacts on Maryland’s border counties such as Allegany and Garrett. AAA Mid Atlantic says blame it on new motor fuel tax laws that go into effect in two weeks in both states. Starting July 1, the cost of gasoline here in Maryland will likely increase by over three and a half cents a gallon.  In Maryland the state motor fuel tax rate will increase by nearly four cents in two weeks, edging up from 23.5¢ a gallon to 27.3¢ per gallon.  AAA's Christine Delise says the gas tax hike is going to be felt for the next five years…
