Mayor Grim Calls Latest Claims From Citizen Activist “Unfounded Nonsense”

October 31st, 2018 by WCBC Radio

Longtime citizens activist Mary Miltenberger claimed recently that Cumberland Mayor Brian Grim and some members of the City Council are taking “kickbacks” from the developers of the Rolling Mill project. On WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” Tuesday she took things a step further suggesting that Grim, in capacity as a ranger at Rocky Gap State Park, stole money being paid by people coming to the park for the Christmas lights show. Grim, appearing on WCBC in a paid political advertisement dismissed Miltenberger’s accusations as unfounded nonsense. He added that he is disappointed that a current member of city council as well as a candidate for a seat are both seeking advice and direction from Miltenberger…

I would not be surprised if this is true. Grimm has done nothing but mislead the people of Cumberland for quite some time. Look at the last 8 years, no progress, only much higher costs to live here, a tax base that has shrunk. TIME FOR A CHANGE!!

Actually,Brian Grim is the BEST man for the job,and has done more for this City, than many before him. We are in a much better place thanks to Mayor Grim. Your posting “Steve” is just one more example of the misleading and outright smear campaign being waged against a good man and Mayor. >

      > It’s about time someone had Miltenberger evaluated for mental health problems. She has gone too far this time. This is libelous!

It seems quite reasonable, Joe, to question the reason a pipsqueak mayor who is double dipping already with two city related jobs and was unemployed before being elected would sell a property for $600k to a firm that he selected which cost the city about $6 million to acquire. This was done by borrowing the money in the name of the city which means it will cost about 4 times that to repay over the decades. It is either as Ms. Miltenberger says or it is gross stupidity. Either is quite believable with comrade Grim.
