Allegany County Commissioner Mike Mckay, although cautiously optimistic about the latest plans announced for the private sector development of the Footer Dye Works Building, also makes it clear that he views this as the last shot for the Canal Place Authority. Several proposals have come and gone over the the years for commercial redevelopment of the aging structure- and Mckay, who serves as a board member on the Authority, says he hopes the Michael Joy Development can be successful where other have failed.
