Maryland Congressman Elijah Cummings says a self-described conservative Republican in the IRS has told investigators that no one at the White house directed the agency to target tea party groups. Representative Elijah Cummings, a Democrat who represents Maryland’s 7th District, released a partial transcript of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform interview with the unnamed manager in the IRS' Cincinnati office. In it, the employee said the extra scrutiny for tea party groups' tax exempt status was an effort to be consistent in reviewing applications and not driven by politics. Cummings said in his opinion, this latest information should effectively put an end to this case…
