Maryland’s Secretary of the Environment visited Allegany County last week for just one stop- a walking tour of the AES Warrior Run facility at Mexico Farms. Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine accompanied Secretary Ben Grumbles during the three hour walkthrough. Grumbles, who was confirmed by the senate as MDE secretary in March of last year, has experience in energy, climate, air, waste and agricultural policy and regulations. The secretary has interested in getting a first hand look at the Warrior Run facility- which is a state of the art clean coal fired facility. The media was not permitted to attend the tour, but Valentine provided an update saying that the secretary came away impressed with the cleanliness and efficiency of the operation…
