Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Office of the Secretary and representatives from MDOT’s business units visited Allegany County Thursday afternoon to discuss transportation investments. It was the tenth stop in MDOT’s annual tour of 23 Maryland counties and Baltimore City to update local officials and the public on the Hogan administration’s Draft FY 2019-2024 Consolidated Transportation Program (CTP), which details MDOT’s $16 billion six-year capital budget. In attendance were County Commissioners Jake Shade and Bill Valentine, State Senator George Edwards and Delegate Mike McKay. Secretary Pete Rahn began by outlining the state’s investments. Allegany County’s transportation priorities include Route 51 safety; improvements for Route 220 and the North South Corridor.
