According to a recent article in the Cumberland Times News, the first medical cannabis dispensary in Allegany County could be open for business to patients by July. The dispensary site that was chosen is the site of the former Merling Wholesale Co. and Biederlack of America- the former site of the Moose Lodge. In one of his final public appearances before moving to a new position in Virginia, Shawn Hershberger, the outgoing executive director of the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation, told local business leaders he believes medical marijuana could play a key role in the region’s future economic development plans…
