Maryland U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski this week spoke on the Senate floor in support of the Emergency Unemployment Compensation Extension Act, bipartisan legislation that would provide a critical safety net of Unemployment Insurance (UI) for 23,000 Marylanders whose benefits expired on January 1. Mikulski, a democrat, said that the problem is being felt across her home state- and she blasted those who are suggesting that individuals looking for unemployment compensation aren’t actually interested in findng work….
