Maryland Senate President Mike Miller believes the votes are in place to pass a transportation revenue enhancement bill- however he expects some lengthy debates, most of them on the house side. Miller, along with Governor Martin O'Malley and House Speaker Michael Busch on Monday unveiled a plan to boost some transportation taxes to pay for roads and bridges- and it would include a gas tax hike. Under the proposal, the price of gasoline would increase by 2-cents-a-gallon starting July 1, and it would increase another 7-cents-a-gallon the following year. Miller says he is confident it will get through the senate, but he anticipates more challenges in the house…
