Route 40 Reopened After Mishap

On September 26, 2018 at approximately 4:40 AM, Maryland State Police Cumberland Barrack responded to a single motor vehicle collision eastbound US RT 40 in front of the Clarysville Motel.

The vehicle involved in the collision struck a power line pole and power lines were down across both lanes of eastbound and westbound US Rt. 40 in front of the motel.

Allegany County 911 told WCBC News that the road was reopened after about an hour and a half.  There were no serious injuries.
