A subject who visited the Veteran’s Memorial on S. Centre St. observed where vandals defaced the memorial at the Eternal Flame. The suspect(s) spray painted a curse word on the memorial. The city street department responded to remove as much of the spray paint as they could. It is unknown how much it will cost to have the memorial placed back into its original condition. At this time there are no suspects or witnesses to the crime. If anyone has any information concerning this crime they are asked to contact the Cumberland City Police Department at 301-777-1600.
