“Moose” Arnone Passes Away

Following a lengthy illness, longtime teacher, administrator and elected school board member Enordo “Moose” Arnone passed away Monday at the age of 81. Moose began his teaching career in Allegany County in 1959 at Beall Jr.-Sr. High School.  In August of 1969, he took over the position of Administrative Assistant where he remained until 1975.  Moose was named vice- principal of Beall High School in 1975 and then became the principal of Bruce High School in 1978.  In 1982, Moose began as the principal of the Vo-Tech Center, now known as the Center for Career and Technical Education, where he remained until his retirement in 1987.  In January of 1991, Arnone was elected to his first term on the Board of Education of Allegany County, and he served in this capacity for four consecutive terms until December of 2006.  Jeff Metz served several terms on the Board of Education with Arnone and remembered him as a dedicated educator and a good friend and mentor…
