Two significant projects designed to enhance educational and economic opportunities in the region highlighted a visit to the area from Maryland Sixth District Congressman David Trone, with ceremonies attended by state and local officials. A groundbreaking was held at Frostburg State University for the campus’ newest building, expected to open students in 2022. Once complete, the $80 million facility will be serve as the primary classrooms for students studying to be educators, nurses and health professionals. At Allegany College of Maryland, a tour of the Western Maryland Corrections Institute Training Center was conducted. The training center, once completed, will feature a series of classrooms expected to accommodate more than 2,500 members of the community throughout the course of the year. It will serve as everything from an emergency command center for North Branch Correctional Institute when necessary to a business incubator site. Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss.

Oh joy!! Train kids to be health professionals so they can get better jobs WHEN THEY MOVE AWAY from here!! And teacher the rest how to watch people in cages (at taxpayers exspence). I’m disappointed they left out ‘fast food trainee’ programs for the real ambitious!
