UPDATED: Snow Emergency Plan Activated For Allegany, Garrett & Washington Counties

The Snow Emergency Plan has been activated in Allegany, Garrett and Washington Counties due to anticipated hazardous driving conditions caused by anticipated snow and high winds.

The Snow Emergency Plan is in effect for all roadways.  Snow Removal Crews from the Maryland State Highway Administration are aware and monitoring the situation.  Crews have pretreated the roadways. 

The Maryland State Police urge all motorists to drive with due care and consideration; let common sense dictate.  Please drive carefully due to the road conditions. When the Snow Emergency Plan is in effect, all vehicles traveling on designated Snow Emergency Routes must be equipped with chains, snow tires, or all season radial tires. Vehicles parked on Snow Emergency Routes are subject to being impounded.
