MSP Hagerstown Activates Washington County Snow Plan

January 23rd, 2017 by WCBC Radio

The Snow Emergency Plan is in effect due to hazardous driving conditions caused by ice covered roads. The State Police have been very busy handling accidents and calls for service throughout Washington County.

Deterioration of present road conditions has activated the Snow Removal Crews from the Maryland State Highway Administration.  Crews are presently treating the roadways.  Motorists are urged to drive with due care and consideration; let common sense dictate.  Please drive carefully due to the road conditions.

When the Snow Emergency Plan is in effect, all vehicles traveling on designated Snow Emergency Routes must be equipped with chains, snow tires, or all season radial tires. Vehicles parked on Snow Emergency Routes are subject to being impounded.
