Criminal Summons Served On July 18, 2019, the Cumberland Police Department served a Criminal Summons on Christopher Michael Emerson, 29 of Cumberland, MD. The charges stemmed from Emerson allegedly stealing a back pack containing items of monetary value. Emerson was served with the paperwork and released pending his appearance in District Court.

Arrested: Christopher Scott Emerson Age: 29 of Cumberland MD Charges: Theft $100.00 to under $1500.00

Criminal Summons Served On July 18, 2019, the Cumberland Police Department served a Criminal Summons on Tia Marie Jones, 37 of Cumberland, MD. The charges stemmed from officers locating Jones in an abandoned residence in the 400 block of Maryland Ave. Jones was served with the paperwork and released pending her appearance in District Court.

Arrested: Tia Marie Jones Age: 37 of Cumberland MD Charges: 4th Degree Burglary

Disorderly Conduct On July 18, 2019, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 900 block of Maryland Ave for report of a white male pounding on the doors and windows of the residence, disturbing the occupants inside. Upon arrival, officers located Anthony Edward Horn Sr., 45 of Cumberland, MD, in the rear of the residence. Horn was arrested and transported to the Cumberland Police Department. Horn was issued Criminal Citations and released pending his appearance in District Court.

On July19, 2019, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on S. Centre Street for a soliciting complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect, who was identified as Aaron Scott Long, 40 of Ridgeley, WV. Officers then learned that Long entered the business through a side door after the business was closed to the public. Once inside, Long was confronted by a worker and told that he was not to be in the building due to the building being closed. Long then stated that he needed money due to his vehicle being broken down. Long was again told to leave the building. Long then exited the building where he was contacted by police. After officers learned that Long had illegally entered the building, he was told that he was under arrest. Long then resisted arrest by pushing the officer away and fleeing the area on foot. A foot chase ensued and Long was ultimately taken into custody about one block away in the downtown area. Long was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and taken to the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance. Long was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and held without bond.
