The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has proposed building two recreational trails for off-road vehicles near the Allegany County Washington County line. The proposed trails are mapped on state-owned land at Sideling Hill. The matter is to be discussed September 4th during a meeting in Garrett County. According to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, it is proposing another off-road vehicle trail in Garrett County. Delegate LeRoy Myers believes Western Marylanders would benefit from the trails, but said environmental groups will oppose the measure.
