Neighborhoods Matter Program Resumed

The city of Cumberland resumed its Neighborhoods Matter program Tuesday with staff visiting residents door-to-door to provide guidance on a range of issues that affect their neighborhoods. The program was started last year at the urging of Mayor Brian Grim. City staff will work throughout August, September and October to visit more than 30 streets to discuss neighborhood needs and concerns dealing with property maintenance, street conditions, fire and crime prevention, nuisance and blight concerns, or other issues as they may arise. The Cumberland Fire Department will assist residents with checking or installing smoke detectors as needed.  Mayor Grim said that Decator Heights was first on the schedule…
