New Contract Signed for County Roads Employees

Allegany County commissioners and union officials signed a new contract for county roads employees during the regular commission business meeting.  Negotiations with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees continue on other contracts. It’s the second union group to come to an agreement with the county on a new contract following the 911 dispatchers who signed in late August. There are currently 56 employees in the roads bargaining unit. Brian Westfall, the county’s director of human resources, said that although the economic crisis makes it’s a difficult time to negotiate- he feels both sides will benefit from this agreement…
