No details have been released, which is often the case with potential economic development projects, however the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority has indicated that a “game changing” project may be close to coming to fruition at the Footer Dye Works building. The Authority has been negotiating with a potential developer, and recently has completed the first phase of stabilization on the aging structure. While there is a segment of the local population, and at least one former board member that want to see the building demolished- Authority Chair Andy Vick says the first priority is to salvage of market the site.
