During the first public budget work session, the Allegany County Commissioners reported that for the first time in a number of years there will be no discussion of employee layoffs or furloughs. After dealing with declinging revenues and increasing expenditures in the past few years- the county is showing a slight, 1.5% increase in revenues. Commissioners President Mike Mckay credited the majority of departments and agencies that came under budget this year.
