No Santa discrimination being practiced

November 19th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

There is no truth to rumors that have circulated in recent days regarding the annual visits to Santa Claus at the Country Club Mall and how special needs children are being handled. Comments on social media in the past few days have suggested that children in wheelchairs or with special needs would not be able to participate in the regularly scheduled Santa Clause visits at center court of the mall in LaVale. A spokesperson for the Christmas program issued a statement saying that while a separate, stand alone hour, in a quiet, non rushed environment has been established for special needs children there are no restrictions of any kinds regarding any child visiting Santa during regular hours. Any questions about the “compassionate Santa program” should be directed to the Country Club Mall office at 301-729-8002.
