No Time Frame in Replacing Canal Place Director

February 13th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

A special meeting of the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority’s Board of Directors was held earlier this month to discuss Renee Bone’s recent resignation as executive director- with Board Chairman Andy Vick saying the hope is to find a replacement in short order.  Bone sent out an email in January indicating her last day with the authority would be Feb. 7th.  The Canal Place has come under fire in recent years for a lack of business activity- with just three businesses currently opened there. Bone, who held the directors post for three years, stepped down to pursue other opportunities. Vick told WCBC News that the recent meeting essentially outlined the process that will be used during the search- however there is no set time frame for finding a replacement.
