NWS Flood Warnings For Region Updated

The National Weather Service  has issued a Flood Warning for Small Streams in Northeastern Mineral County in eastern West Virginia until 245 AM EST.

* At 849 PM EST, the gauge on Patterson Creek in Headsville shows
  that the creek has crested, but continues above flood stage.
  Patterson Creek is expected to continue in flood through 245 AM
  EST. Motorists along WV State Route 46 between Ft. Ashby and
  Keyser should be on the alert for the potential of flooded
  roadways.


Forecast flooding increased from Minor to Moderate severity...The Flood Warning continues for  The Potomac River at Paw Paw.
* Until Monday afternoon.
* At 8 PM Saturday the stage was 18.9 feet and rising.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by tomorrow morning and crest
  near 28.5 feet by early tomorrow evening. The river will fall below
  flood stage by Monday morning.


The Flood Warning continues for
  The South Branch Potomac River near Springfield.
* From overnight tonight until Monday morning.
* At 8 PM Saturday the stage was 11.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by overnight tonight and crest
  near 18.6 feet by early tomorrow afternoon. The river will fall
  below flood stage by early Monday morning.
* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.4 feet
  on Apr 17 2018.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
