An Oakland man was arrested and his wife treated for a knife wound to the leg following an incident Sunday at the couple's Bethlehem Road residence, according to the Garrett County Sheriff's Office. The Cumberland Times News reports Marvin Eugene White, 68, remained jailed Wednesday in the Garrett County Detention Center in lieu of $200,000 bond on charges of first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest.

White allegedly assaulted his wife with his hands and a fillet knife.

His wife was taken by Southern Rescue Squad to the Garrett Regional Medical Center where she was treated for a leg laceration as a result of the 9 p.m. incident.

Police said deputies and Natural Resources Police responded to the incident.

Officers reportedly utilized a Taser to subdue White as he began to fight with investigating officers. He was then taken into custody without further incident.
