Oakland youth arrested

A 14-year-old Oakland youth was arrested Sunday after he allegedly broke into an Oakland residence and an out building on the property. The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office charged the youth with two counts of fourth-degree burglary, theft less than $1,000 and destruction of property in connection with the burglary of a Crescent Lane dwelling. Police said forced entry was made into the out building where a lawn tractor was stolen. Entry was also made into the residence but no items were missing. Following his arrest, the youth was released to the custody of his parents, pending juvenile court proceedings.
