September 29th, 2013 by WCBC Radio

This Tuesday, several laws go into effect in state of Maryland, with the main focus on new gun laws aimed at helping keep guns away from criminals and banning 45 types of assault weapons. When signed in May, a provision was highlighted that will require residents who buy a handgun to be fingerprinted to own a handgun, making Maryland the sixth such state to do so. According to reports, gun purchases have skyrocketed in the state, once again making registration forms pile up even more for the Maryland State Police.
