A ten-year old was injured early Monday afternoon after being struck by a car on Route 51 just west of Oldtown. Police say the girl ran into the road way where she was hit by Melissa Ann Carter,35, of Fort Ashby, Wv. Carter was cited for driving on a suspended out-of-state license however, was not at fault in the accident. The child suffered a leg fracture and was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital by Maryland State Police Medevac Trooper 5. Carter was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center by ambulance with unspecified injuries.
