Oldtown resident charged in Cumberland hit-and-run

On Thursday, August 20th, 2020 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of River for the report of a hit and run accident.  The caller described that a dark color SUV had just struck a parked vehicle and left the scene.  When officers arrived, they observed a Mitsubishi passenger car that had been struck in the rear with significant damage.  Witnesses in the area at the time of the collision were able to describe a dark colored Ford SUV and provided the license plate number and the direction of travel the SUV went leaving the scene.  The driver was later identified as Louis Frederick Bauer IV of Oldtown.  Charges will be filed at District Court against Bauer for leaving the scene of an unattended property damage accident.
