Governor Martin O’Malley announced Tuesday that the State, through the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED), has approved a $250,000 grant to the Tri-County Council for Western Maryland (TCCWMD) to establish a revolving loan fund for qualified small businesses in Allegany County. Allegany County has designated the TCC as its agency to receive and administer the funds. As a One Maryland Jurisdiction, the Council will provide $125,000 in matching funds. Allegany County Economic Development Director Matt Diaz said that small business growth and development is a top priority in Allegany County’s overall economic development strategy.
