O’Malley Defends MSP Detail Head

Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley says he hopes behavior raised by several members of Attorney General Doug Gansler’s security detail has been adequately addressed.  Accusations by several members of the security detail were first made public in a report Sunday in the Washington Post. The troopers, along with the head of the Maryland State Police Executive Protection Detail, had said on a number of occasions Gansler ordered troopers to turn on the lights and emergency sirens in Gansler’s state-owned vehicle, to get the attorney general to routine appointments. In a television interview Tuesday, Gansler called Ardolini “a henchman” for O’Malley, and Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, who like Gansler is running for the Democratic nomination for governor next year. Speaking to reporters this week, O’Malley defended Ardolini:
