Last week gun control measures were the focal point in Annapolis- and this week another controversial initiative from the O’Malley administration takes center stage. On Thursday, Governor Martin O'Malley appears before the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee which is considering his bill to repeal the death penalty. The committee is also considering another bill that would impose the death penalty on those who commit murder on the grounds of a school or child care center. The governor has been a vocal opponent of the death penalty. The governor argues the death penalty is a waste of resources that could be better used to fight crime in more productive ways…
