In the past two years, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley has pushed for and gotten legislation passed on such controversial issues as same sex marriage; gun control; tuition for illegal immigrants and repealing the death penalty. Republicans and other opponents of the governor's initiatives argue that these issues were addressed to raise his profile for a possible presidential run in 2016. O'Malley said he pursued these issues because he believes they are good policy and will keep Maryland competitive. The governor has set up a PAC to raise money for a possible run for president or other federal office. The governor told WBAL that at some point he will decide on his political future, but he isn’t ready just yet…
