On Friday, Governor Martin O'Malley unveiled details of a proposal to add a sixth casino in Maryland, at National Harbor in Prince George's County, as well as to legalize table games. The governor is trying to build support for the legislation that gambling supporters want considered in a special session of the General Assembly that would be held in the next few weeks. A special session would cost taxpayers about $25,000 a day. The governor told reporters, adding that he hopes most lawmakers would come back to Annapolis if a special session is called- saying an additional two or three days to address a significant jobs and revenue issue isn’t too much to ask.
