O’Malley Wants Tougher Referendum Requirements

Although each of the major initiatives he supported were approved by voters in November, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley says it is time for lawmakers to reconsider the requirements that voters can use to get legislation before voters, noting the current process maybe "too easy."  Three of the seven ballot questions voters approved last month were the result of referendum petitions.  In an interview on election night, O’Malley said that the process has probably been made “a little too easy” and that the  legislature probably needs to revisit it.     I think voter have the right to keep O`Malley in check so if anythink it should be EASYER to get referendum in front of voters to stop STUID legislation voted out. Personnaly think O`Malley should Resign as Gov. Maryland would be so much better with out him.
