O’Malley Would Like To Remove Coal Tax Credit

For 25 years the state of Maryland has granted a $3 per ton tax credit to the coal industry.  Governor Martin O’Malley would like that tax credit removed.  Adrienne Ottaviani, the executive director of the Maryland Coal Association, is hoping the General Assembly will prevent the loss of that tax credit.  Ottaviani says the state comptroller has been an asset for Western Maryland coal.
