One person was taken to the hospital Friday after a vehicle traveled off Cutoff Road and into a tree, according to the Mineral County 911 Emergency Center. New Creek Volunteer Fire Department ambulance took the injured person to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center following alert at 6:10 a.m. The Cumberland Times News reports New Creek and Keyser firefighters also responded to the crash that occurred near state Route 972.
The Mineral County Sheriff's Department investigated.
A number of accidents were reported in Mineral County shortly before daylight as snow was occurring throughout the area. A 911 dispatcher said none of the accidents appeared to have involved serious injuries.
Mineral County schools were closed Friday due to the inclement weather.
