According to Capital News Service, State data shows cocaine is increasingly playing a role in the opioid epidemic. Each year cocaine-related deaths have skyrocketed annual in Maryland in recent years.Lt. Michael Ashburn Sr., commander of the narcotics and special investigations in Arundel County, "Cocaine is making a comeback."
Nearly 900 people died from cocaine deaths in Maryland in 2018 according to a report from the Maryland Department of Health distributed in May.
