PACE Reception Focusing on Economic Development, Education, and Growth

The Cumberland/Allegany County Industrial Foundation, Inc. (CACIF) and the Garrett County Development Corporation are once again hosting the PACE Reception on Thursday, January 23 between 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and the PACE Breakfast on Friday,  8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.  Both events are held at the Loews Annapolis Hotel. The 2014 theme is Energizing Maryland.”   PACE offers free-flowing interaction by Mountain Marylanders with state and federal government officials and staff members. Strategic new projects and current key legislative hot topics for Allegany and Garrett Counties can be discussed in an informal networking environment. The PACE 2014 talking points focus on economic development, education, infrastructure, tourism, and strategic growth.  Robert Smith is serving as co-chair of the events and he tells WCBC News that the reception and follow-up breakfast serve as outstanding opportunities to show case western Maryland to the rest of the state, and for local elected officials to lobby department heads and lawmakers for key projects.
