PACE Reception Tomorrow

January 23rd, 2019 by WCBC Radio

Tomorrow and Friday will see Western Maryland invade Annapolis as the 2019 Mountain Maryland Pace event will be held.  Elected officials, business and community leaders and representatives of agencies across Allegany and Garrett counties will take part in the annual event which began back in 1977. PACE is an acronym for Positive Attitudes Change Everything- and it is designed to showcase the western region and present legislative initiatives and funding needs to state leaders. The event will once again be held at the Hotel Annapolis (formerly the Loews Annapolis Hotel) with the evening PACE Reception Thursday beginning at 6 p.m., and the PACE breakfast held at 8 a.m. on Friday. A strong lineup of featured speakers is scheduled for the Friday event with Lt. Gov. Boyd K. Rutherford; Comptroller Peter Franchot; U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin and U.S. Rep. David Trone headlining.  All three Allegany County Commissioners will be attending along with County Administrator Brandon Butler and Public Works Director Paul Kahl. Commissioner Creade Brodie Jr said that this annual  event  as well as the meetings that taken place on the days leading up to it have provided the county millions of dollars in funding over the years for a myriad of infrastructure projects…
