Pair Arrested In Valley Street Robbery

On September 5, 2015 at approximately 4:26 PM the Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 500 block of Valley Street in reference to a robbery. When the officers arrived on scene they immediately located the victim and observed he had injuries. The victim told police he had returned home to find several people in his kitchen. He recognized one of the subjects as Logan Tyler McDaniel before he was struck in the face several times by McDaniel and assaulted by the other subjects in the house. He believed McDaniel had used a pair of brass knuckles during the assault and may have been knocked unconscious. Injuries were consistent with being struck with brass knuckles. When he woke up he discovered several items were missing from his residence. The victim and witnesses in the area were able to provide a description of the suspects to police. Police located two subjects matching the description on Columbia Avenue and found they were in possession of stolen property from the victim’s residence. The suspects located on Columbia Avenue were McDaniel and Trey Anthony Thompson. They were positively identified as two of the subjects involved in the incident. McDaniel and Thompson were placed under arrest and charged with Robbery, Burglary, and related charges. McDaniel and Thompson were taken before a District Court Commissioner where they were each held on $35,000. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Trey Anthony Thompson Age: 22 Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Robbery, 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, 1st Degree Burglary, Dangerous Weapon-Int/Injure, and Theft: $1000 to under $10,000.
