On 09/17/16 the Cumberland Police Dept served a criminal summons on 19 year old Keribel Navarro of Silver Spring MD and 20 year old Welfred Jones of Clinton MD.
The summons stems from an investigation initiated by the Cumberland Police Dept on 09/10/16 when officers responded to a business located in the 700blk of Park St in reference to a theft.
Upon arrival Officers contacted store employees who advised that they observed both Navarro and Jones as well as one other subject go through the self check out area and intentionally not scan numerous items in attempts to not pay for them. The subjects then attempted to leave the store where they were confronted by store employees.
Both Jones and Navarro were served with a criminal summons charging them with one count of Theft less than $100 and Conspiracy to commit theft under $100 pending trial in District Court.
