On Saturday, Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant on 44 year old Byron Nathan Morrison, of the city.
The warrant was issued by District Court based on an investigation on September 4th, 2019, when officers responded to take a complaint from a male victim that claimed that while walking in the area of the Post Office on Park Street, he was thrown to the ground by an unknown white male suspect. The suspect then took a sum of cash and his credit cards.
The investigating officer was able to view surveillance footage of the crime as it happened and Morrison was identified as the suspect. He was charged with robbery, credit card theft, assault, and theft less than $100.
Morrison was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await and bond review before the District Court Commissioner.
