Word in this morning's edition of the Cumberland's Times News that Patrick's Pub will be the anchor restaurant on the first floor of the Footer Project means that the original anchor, Barley and Hops, is out.
While we don't know the details of why the deal with the Frederick based brew pub fell apart, shortly after the announcement that Barley and Hops would be the anchor tenant, WCBC News started getting word through back channels that the company had tax issues.
When owner Gary Brooks was in town in February of 2015, WCBC's Bryan Gowans asked him about those rumors…
Lori Keough had recently become involved with Barley and Hops, and scoffed at the reports…
