Hagerstown: On 11/13/14 shortly after 6AM, Troopers from the Hagerstown Barrack responded to Interstate 70 east near the 33 mile marker for a reported collision involving a tractor trailer and a pedestrian.

A 2000 Chevrolet Silverado was parked on the shoulder for mechanical issues. The driver of that truck, Brian Wylie, 32 of Hagerstown, was outside of the vehicle on the shoulder of the roadway.

A 2012 Freightliner tractor trailer driven by Shawnell Corn, 38 of Baltimore, was eastbound on I-70. The driver of the tractor trailer drove off the travel portion of I-70 and struck the parked Chevrolet.

The investigation found that Mr. Wylie was in front of or in close proximity of the Chevrolet when it was struck by the tractor trailer. The tractor trailer as a result of the collision with the truck then struck Mr. Wylie who was outside of the truck.

EMS and Fire crews responded to transport Mr. Wylie to Meritis Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Troopers from the barrack are continuing the investigation into the cause of the collision.
