Pedestrian Killed In Somerset County

The Cumberland Times News reports a pedestrian on Lambertsville Road was struck and killed late Tuesday by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Brian James Wright, 24, Friedens, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was struck, police said, by a automobile being driven by Ashston Vaughn Danton, 21, Stoystown, at about 9:30 p.m.

Wright was found lying in the roadway and the vehicle was in a wooded area nearby. Danton was flown by Lifeflight to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment. PSP continues to investigate the incident.

Also responding were Stoystown and Shanksville fire departments and ambulances from Boswell and Somerset.
