Pedestrian Struck In Hagerstown

On 01/26/2014 at approximately 2:50 pm, the Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack responded to southbound I 81 at the 11 mile marker for a pedestrian struck. Troopers identified the pedestrian to be Dorothy Brisko, 49, from Greencastle PA. Brisko was struck by a tractor trailer as she walked out into the right lane of southbound I 81. Following that collision, Brisko walked back out into the right lane and was subsequently struck by a second tractor trailer. The north and southbound lanes were closed for approximately 20 minutes while the Maryland State Police helicopter was on scene. Brisko was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma. The right lane of southbound I 81 remained closed for approximately an additional 45 minutes while Troopers conducted their investigation. Washington County Sheriff’s Dept., Maugansville Fire and Rescue, Halfway Fire and Rescue, and Fire Police assisted at the scene. Investigation into the incident is continuing.
