Pedestrian Struck on Route 340

On 05/21/2013 at 2300 hours, the Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack received a call in reference to a struck pedestrian on the U.S Route 340 Potomac River Bridge.  Investigation revealed that George Baugher (63 y.o.a) of Keedysville, MD, was walking in the travel portion of the bridge when he was struck by a 2006 Freightliner, driven by Ellis Albert (58 y.o.a), of Waldorf, MD. 

     Baugher was injured and flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, MD, by Maryland State Police Aviation.  The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours to complete investigation.
