Pirates/Reds one game playoff

October 1st, 2013 by WCBC Radio

For the 1st time in more than 20 years the Pittsburgh Pirates will be in post season action with a one game, do or die play in wild card game with the Cincinnatti Reds. Thanks to a three game sweep of the Reds over the weekend, the game will be played at Pittsburgh's PNC Park. The voice of the Pirates, Greg Brown was a guest on WCBC's "Dave Norman Show"  Tuesday to preview the contest. He said that while team MVP Andrew McCutchen has struggled in September and all season against the Reds, he expects him to play a key role tonight. With the stakes being high in a one game showdown, Brown says the Pirates will pull out all stops. If starter Franciso Liriano struggles early, he says look for rookie sensation Garrett Cole to be first out of the bullpen. And for what its worth, Brown predicts a 5-2 Pirates win.
